Recently Building Neighborhoods Together (BNT) was visited by executives from United Illuminating Co and their parent company, Avangrid. Franklin Reynolds, President and CEO of UIL Holdings, Pablo Colón, Director of Corporate Citizenship for Avangrid, and Jalmar De Dios, Director of Communications & Economic Development for Avangrid, came to BNT’s office and presented a check for $15,000 to Doris Latorre, CEO of Building Neighborhoods Together.
This generous donation will be allotted towards increasing the number of Bridgeport area residents who benefit from BNT’s financial literacy classes and first-time homeownership seminars. Many of these classes and counseling sessions are available to all Connecticut residents, free of charge.
At the end of 2021, Avangrid attended the BNT Annual Benefit at Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater and witnessed firsthand the various services and resources BNT provides to the community and thus felt empowered to support the cause. BNT is grateful for their generosity and initiative to support CT residents in the midst of a housing crisis.
