BNT Hosts Annual Benefit: Meeting the Housing Crisis – December 8, 2021

On December 8 at 6 PM, BNT hosted its BNT Annual Benefit: Meeting the Housing Crisis at the new Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater facility in Bridgeport. The event not only raised support for the housing and counseling work BNT provides, but it also introduced funders and community supporters to Doris Latorre as BNT’s new Interim CEO as of November 15, 2021. After a long year in a pandemic, this was a great way to celebrate all the accomplishments BNT has made over the last 12 months.

The evening started with Stephen Grathwohl, BNT Board President, introducing Doris Latorre, BNT’s Interim CEO. Following Doris’ introduction, the event continued with a welcoming video by Senator Richard Blumenthal, followed by René Jones, Chairman and CEO of M&T Bank, serving as the Keynote Speaker, and Governor Ned Lamont and Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) and Denise Scott, Executive Vice President of LISC and Chairman of Federal Reserve Bank of New York, serving as BNT’s Honorees. Upon accepting BNT’s Community Impact Award, Governor Ned Lamont praised Department of Housing Commissioner, Seila Mosquera-Bruno, for the success of the Unite CT program. The Commissioner then took the stage and spoke about the Unite CT program, recognized her staff present at the event, and the great work BNT provided administering the program in Bridgeport and across the state.

BNT is very grateful to its sponsors, which included our Presenting Partner, M&T Bank, Gold Sponsors, Bank of America, KeyBank, Newtown Savings Bank, People’s United Bank, Shelter, powered by Keller Williams, Wells Fargo, Silver Sponsors, Bankwell, Fairfield County Bank, First Republic Bank, Elizabeth & Joseph Massoud Family Foundation, Webster Bank, and Bronze Sponsors, Avangrid, City of Bridgeport, Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, Hoopes Moganthaler Rausch & Scaramozza LLC, Attorneys at Law, Normcom Mortgage.
