A special announcement was made at this year’s Masquerade Ball. BNT was recognized as Bank of America’s 2016 Neighborhood Builder Award Recipient.
The award also comes with a $200,000 grant prize of unrestricted funding over a two-year period.
“Building Neighborhoods Together has had a tremendous impact on the Bridgeport community through their development and support of housing options for low-income families,” said Bill Tommins, Southern Connecticut market president at Bank of America. “We’re honored to recognize BNT’s commitment to Bridgeport with this award, which will help them develop strategic plans, increase their capacity and enhance funding opportunities.”
“We’re literally building communities, which is very much in line with the Neighborhood Builder award,” said Elizabeth Torres executive director of the nonprofit. “One of my board members likened it to winning an Oscar. It’s that level of recognition in this field.”
