November 15, 2021 – BNT’s Stephen Grathwohl Announces Doris Latorre Now Interim CEO
Building Neighborhoods Together’s (BNT) Board President, Stephen Grathwohl announced today that Deputy Director Deputy G. Latorre has been elevated to Interim Chief Executive Officer, and that Noah Gotbaum tendered his resignation earlier today.
Steve said that as BNT’s Deputy Director, Doris has been an essential member of its leadership team for the past seven years and has been a veteran leader within the Connecticut and national housing community for decades. Among her many leadership roles at BNT, Doris has overseen BNT’s highly successful Empowerment Resource Academy (ERA) and has been responsible for implementing the vital Unite-CT emergency rental assistance initiative statewide, in conjunction with Connecticut’s Department of Housing under the American Rescue Plan. Among its accomplishments, ERA has helped over 2,400 tenants and their families avoid eviction and countless of landlords avoid foreclosure so far this year.
Noah has very much enjoyed his time at BNT and is extremely proud of the work that BNT has been able to accomplish especially during the pandemic. But for personal and family reasons, Noah has decided that now is the time to devote his time elsewhere and move on to different challenges. BNT’s board wishes Mr. Gotbaum well in his future endeavors, congratulates Ms. Latorre in her new role, and looks forward to continuing, under Doris’ leadership, BNT’s mission to end housing insecurity, income inequality and homelessness in Bridgeport, Fairfield County and all across Connecticut.
