December 22, 2021 – HUD Fact Sheet: 2021 Year in Review; Fair Housing Highlights
December 22, 2021 – HUD published its 2021 Year in Review Fact Sheet, which includes significant collaboration between other governmental agencies and the Biden administration. The publication included the following highlights regarding Fair Housing antidiscrimination advancements:
- Task force established June 2021 brings together 15 federal agencies to address inequities in home appraisals and homebuying process primarily affecting communities of color
- MOU signed with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks for deeper collaboration on sharing fair housing investigations in the mortgage industry
- HUD announces Fair Housing Act adoption of sexual orientation and gender identity interpretations consistent with President Biden’s Executive Order 13988 on February 11, 2021.
