Bridgeport, CT – June 18, 2025
The Homeward Bound Housing Fair and Networking Event, held at Foolproof Brewing Company in Bridgeport on Thursday, June 5, was a tremendous success. With generous support from Citi as the event’s primary sponsor, the annual gathering drew over 150 prospective homeowners and brought together more than 40 residential real estate professionals. Together, they showcased a wide range of affordable lending and housing products and services to community members looking to take their next steps toward homeownership.

Building Neighborhoods Together (BNT) hosts the event every year during the month of June, which is National Homeownership Month, promoted by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Homeward Bound Housing Fair aims to promote and celebrate the numerous benefits of homeownership while raising awareness about the wide range of resources and programs available to help individuals and families achieve their dream of owning a home.

This year, in addition to hearing from speakers, including Rhonda Wilson-Duncan, Vice President, Strategic Markets Business Development Lead Northeast at Citi, the event featured a bittersweet goodbye. Lizbeth DiFabbio, Director of Individual Housing and Financial Counseling Services, celebrated her retirement after over 10 years of service to BNT. She expressed her thanks for her time working at BNT and reflected on the many lives and families she helped reached their financial goals, including becoming first-time homeowners. Doris Latorre, CEO of BNT, expressed gratitude for the business partners and potential homeowners in attendance.
